It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, Lennon Deborah, at the bright age of six. Lennon entered this world at 11:48 PM on September 19, 2018 (just in time to share her birthday with her Baumpa!). Lennon touched countless hearts in her short but extraordinary life with her brilliance, resilience, and undeniable zest for life.
Lennon was the embodiment of light—a bold, bright personality that could fill any room. Wickedly smart, the ultimate prankster, and sassy beyond belief, she also carried a deep compassion and wisdom far beyond her years.
A shining example of resilience, Lennon embraced the fame that her rare disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), brought her, becoming her family’s very own superstar. Never shy about her challenges, she loved vlogging on her iPad, convinced she was destined to be the next big YouTube star! Whether teaching dance routines, sharing stories, or spreading awareness about SMA, she educated everyone around her with grace and bravery.
Lennon’s sense of humor was one of her most cherished gifts. Her mischievous spirit and clever jokes kept everyone laughing. A beautiful girl with so much love to give, Lennon was a peacemaker who wanted everyone around her to get along. She radiated happiness and inspired those lucky enough to know her.
She adored dancing with abandon—especially to Bruno Mars, JoJo Siwa, and Our Last Night—creating crafts, and spending time with her little sister, Leighton, who was her best friend and partner in crime. Her passion for learning was unmatched, and she loved attending school, where her curiosity and wisdom inspired everyone.
Lennon believed that when you die, you become a star in the sky. Her family will forever look to the heavens, knowing her bright and guiding light will illuminate their path with love and warmth.
Lennon leaves behind her adoring parents, Maura and Trevor Ferri, who will forever be proud of their Woobie Warrior Princess, and her treasured little sister, Leighton. She will also be deeply missed by her Gammie and Gampie (Perry & Debbie Blair), her grandma & grandpa, uncles Maxwell Blair and Ricky (Rico) Ferri, great grandparents, aunts, cousins, great aunts (Graunties), great uncles, and the countless friends, teachers, and caregivers touched by her remarkable spirit. She is predeceased by her Baumpa (great grandpa) and Grauntie Patty.
Though her time with us was brief, Lennon’s impact will last forever. Her laughter, wisdom, vibrance, and unmatched humor will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Details for a celebration of Lennon’s life will be shared at a later date.
