Hi everyone, my name is Shanta and I'm fundraising to help my eldest sister with her cancer treatment.

My sister has Graves disease, which weakens your immune system, and she had her thyroid gland removed; however, she will forever need bloodwork and medication to ensure she is doing well.

Back in October 2023, she had some annual labs done, after having Covid for the 3rd time, and was told she needed an emergency blood transfusion because her WBC was abnormally low. Scared and not being told what was going on or why the transfusion was needed, she still went to the ER to get the blood transfusion. A blood transfusion today is not like it was back in the 1980s, a fairly simple process. Doctors found that she was bleeding from inside. Well her "simple process" turned into 5 days in the hospital, a 2nd blood transfusion, colonoscopy, liver biopsy, CAT scan and more lab work.

Nonetheless, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to her liver. My sister just turned 51 in November...healthy, doesn't eat pork, loves fresh veggies and walks miles daily. So why her? We don't know, but we want to save her. She doesn't have insurance. She was denied Medicaid because they said she makes too much and told to come back in 3 months to apply. She now can't work and the treatment leaves her terribly weak. She needs physical support from people to complete daily task. It takes two people to assist getting her upstairs and to bath for several days after her 5 hour chemo sessions.

The chemotherapy is every two weeks for 8 weeks then rechecked for any changes; however, after the 1st Chemo treatment, she was hospitalized again with blood clots in her arm & calf, given heparin shots ($500 each for someone without insurance) and got COVID again which delayed her next round of Chemo.

If you know anything about Cancer...YOU CAN'T WAIT FOR TREATMENT.

My sister is the peace keeper of our family and gives even those who don't need it another chance. We NEED her. I need her. She is POSITIVE that she will have a full recovery and will not let us doubt that. She is actively doing everything that she can to live with doctors advice and natural remedies.
