Trying To Save Ralston's Life

Donation protected
In January 2014 Ralston Keen was diagnosed with Adult T-Cell Lymphoma a rare and aggressive cancer of the immune systems own T-Cells. Over the past five months he has undergone 5 cycles of Chemotherapy and is now in remission. However, by medical recommendation a total cure will not be possible without a bone marrow or cord blood transplant. With one last cycle of Chemotherapy left, we are still unable to find a suitable bone marrow donor which puts him in imminent danger of a losing battle. This brings us to the need of financial assistance for the fees needed to test possible donors and the expenses that the bone marrow transplant will incur.

This is not Ralston and his immediate family's first encounter with an aggressive terminal cancer. Ralston lost his mother and three siblings to Leukemia/Lymphoma and as recent as eight years ago, he also lost his 17 year old daughter to Rhabdomyosarcoma. This devastation has now brought him to weighing his options and exploring all avenues of a potential cure.

It has come to our attention that in order to find potential donors more people need to donate and or be tested to see if they can be possible matches. The usual resource of the National Bone Marrow Donor Program and Be The Match has not been able to find a donor. This has now caused us to resort to raising funds for private testing. In view of this fact we are going to be reaching out to others in our community and churches in hopes that they will be able or willing to donate to this cause either financially or by testing in becoming a potential donor.

Ralston has become the patriarch of his extended family where he is loved by both the old and the young. He thinks the world of his family and is always available to them for physical and emotional advice and support. Despite his illness he has still been able to continue with most of his regular activities such as his employment and work at home. Doctors have marveled on his physical stature and capabilities. He is a jovial and charismatic individual that has been taking his treatment of Chemotherapy with enthusiasm to conquer cancer. Now we hope family, friends, and well wishers will be able to help support him.

We certainly understand that many people are in similar situations but because we have been inflicted many times it has led us to a financial strain. We are hoping that with your help and empathy you will be able to donate to this cause of helping others to help him.

Thanks in advance for your support and for taking out the time to read this message.
