Fundraising to buy PPE for our NHS & Care Homes!

PPE Fundraiser for Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS and Care Home workers.

As you are no doubt aware, our NHS and Care Home workers are putting their lives at risk to help everyone infected with this highly contagious virus, COVID-19. They do this at great personal risk to help patients recover or to be beside seriously ill people who sadly, may pass away, without a family member being present.

Like many others work colleagues and friends most of us will have family friends and relatives who work in the NHS or care home sectors. I have two daughters who are training to be nurses and  I would like to ensure that they and every other person working in these sectors can do so safely. Often these frontline staff are working in circumstances dangerous to their own safety and they obviously live with the fear of taking this virus back home to their families.

The risk of our frontline workers catching the infection will reduce significantly if they have the correct protective equipment (PPE). We already know from people within the NHS and media reports that they don’t have all the protective clothing necessary despite the efforts being made by our Government. Since this virus became more widespread, we at C Hanlon have been fortunate to assist various local authorities with PPE for distribution to our frontline workers.

PPE pricing has gone up significantly, which has impacted on the affordability of these products. We feel that if we group together and raise some funds, we can assist the NHS and Care Home workers by purchasing some additional protection which may save some lives.

We have set up this funding page for the purpose of buying protective clothing and cleaning products for our frontline workers in the Greater Glasgow area. We will use every penny raised for equipment to protect our health workers, who bravely walk towards these dangers each day.

To get this page up and running we at C Hanlon have made a donation of £3000.00 which has been used to purchase 2500 face masks which we’ve already started to distribute in our area. We would like to do a lot more and with some help from you, our customers, suppliers and members of the public we will source and distribute more protective equipment. Even the smallest donation will buy some masks.

We know these are tough times for many people, however we can, and should try to make a difference to improve the safety of our key workers.

If you can assist by donating money or equipment, we would appreciate your help.
