My future in dental hygiene

I am a single mother to a seven-year-old boy. With help from my friends, family and loving boyfriend I am now entering my second year of the Dental Hygiene Program at Lane Community College. I have kept my night job as a waitress at a high-end restaurant throughout school while volunteering at White Bird Dental Clinic and taking on the duties of class treasurer. All of this has brought me great pleasure. The advent of my second year in the Dental Hygiene Program is incredibly exciting for me and I am looking forward to finishing strong.
 

I need to get out of the restaurant industry and into a job that can provide my son and I a more financially stable life. My decision to enroll in community college, complete my general requirements and earn my way into the highly competitive Dental Hygiene Program was based on this need. 

 

The dental hygiene program at Lane Community College costs more than $35,000. I have been blessed with financial aid to assist in part of the cost but I'm still left with a sizeable amount to cover on my own. My hope is to raise enough to pay for my national board exams and pay off my school debt before I finish school so my son and I can start fresh. No donation amount is too little. Every bit is much appreciated.
