Apartment burnt down to the ground!

As many of you know, my best friend Margie and I used to live together in a beautiful apartment in the Bronx. The place got destroyed in a fire two  nights ago and Margie lost most of her possessions (furniture, TV, computer, clothing, etc.) along with important documents (birth certificate, passport). Her two friends who were in the apartment at the time did not get hurt but  also lost everything.

Margie is the lone lease holder for this apartment  and is unsure of her insurance and legal situation. While many things are uncertain (including what caused the fire)  it is clear that a significant amount of money will be needed to recover from this.
