Support Dylan

I’ve created this fundraiser for my first cousin Lisa’s oldest son Dylan. For anyone who doesn’t know, Lisa is my first cousin and we are two months apart in age. As an only child, Lisa has been more of a sister than a cousin & we have experienced all our ups & downs in life together. She has a tremendous need & I am hopeful those who can will support the Buck family during this tragic life event.

On Tuesday October 1st Dylan had a live changing accident on his motorcycle. Dylan lost control after hitting an overfilled pot hole causing him to crash into a phone pole. Dylan lost his right leg below the knee from the impact, broke his right femur, and had artery, muscle, and tissue damage. In addition, his elbow was shattered and bones in his right arm were broken. Dylan’s injuries have required lengthy surgeries and he still requires intensive medical support in the form of rehabilitation, pain management, prosthetic fit for stump, physical therapy, counseling, and lifestyle change education. Dylan does not have health insurance but does have limited coverage on a high deductible plan purchased by his parents Lisa & Matt. Thus far, out of pocket costs of Dylan’s tragedy is over $15,000.00!! The medical bill will continue to grow due to the extent of Dylan’s injuries and lifestyle changes required post hospital. Lisa & Matt live in Charlotte and are experiencing a great financial burden traveling back and forth, missing work, and doing all they can to meet Dylan’s needs. This is such a shocking and traumatic event that will forever change Dylan’s life requiring many accommodations in his future. Many friends & family have asked how to help so I’ve created this fundraiser to help with Dylan’s medical expenses. It is a parents worst nightmare to see your child in pain and Lisa & Matt are under tremendous stress. The greatest gift those wanting to support Dylan and his family can give is to donate money to help with medical expenses. The financial burden of Dylan’s tragic wreck is a stressor we can all help with. I know many concerned friends & family want to help but don’t know how or what the Buck family needs so this GoFundMe page was created so all who want can be a part of Dylan’s recovery. Dylan, Lisa, Matt, & Logan appreciate all the love, prayers, visits, and support!
