Hi, My name is David and I am fundraising for my sisters family. James and Donna just built their house and closed on it in May. In July they experienced a water leak behind a wall and have been without a kitchen since. In order to get away from the stress they took the kids to Gatlingburg, TN for fall break. While there James began to have headaches and my sister said he was hard to wake up in the mornings, which is unusual. On their last day there (10/15/2023) James began to get sicker and vomited several times. 2 1/2 hours from home they looked up the closest hospital and headed to the Emergency Room. James was treated quickly, but his CT scan showed a “solid mass” in the frontal lobe of his brain. They admitted him and began an emergency treatment plan. James underwent surgery to remove the mass on 10/20/2023. The surgery went well but he was in a lot of pain. On 10/23/2023 they were told it was possibly cancer and he would be set up with oncology closer to home. They stated he will probably have to do radiation treatments 5 days a week for a while with chemo pills as a break from radiation. As of 10/24/2023 he is doing a little better but still in the hospital and still in pain. My sister has only left his side for a few minutes this whole time. We are hoping he is released home soon but until they get his pain under control it is uncertain when that will be.

This is an amazing family and James is an amazing husband and father! The future is uncertain at this time but we know James won’t be able to return to work for a while. This family has given so much of themselves to their church, their family their jobs and their community. I am only asking for prayers. Anything else is a blessing. Please help James, Donna, Emma and Evan in anyway you can even if it’s only a prayer. Donations will go straight to the Thomas family for expenses of traveling back and forth for treatments 5 days a week. And to help with any other expenses while James is out of work.
