What happened:
We bought an RV a few months ago as a semi-permanent home and as a way to move across the country from California to Georgia.
We moved everything into the RV and began our trip. We stopped for gas in Riverside, CA, and filled the tank. When Marcos went back to start the RV, a fire started in the cab.
Our fire extinguisher malfunctioned, and by the time the fire department arrived, the RV was literal toast. The firefighters were AMAZING, and the chief even bought us dinner. Hats off to those guys.
Sydney, the girls, and the puppy were in the car, and drove to a safe location while Marcos and Danny called 911 and helped keep people away from the fire (lots of people wanting to take pictures).
Luckily, birth certificates, a few sentimental items, and our bibles were able to be salvaged. They are wet and charred, but we are grateful to have them.
Our needs:
We lost our clothing, food, and most personal items. Our insurance should cover most of it in time, but for those of you asking how you can help (and you're amazing, by the way), we could use some assistance replacing clothing, buying food, and staying in hotels while we figure out our next step.
We could also use your prayers. We are so grateful that we were all safe and we know God had a hand in that. We also know He uses all things for His glory, and we are humbled by all the people who have reached out to offer comfort and assistance.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out. We are so blessed to have friends/family like you!
