On the morning of Sept 16, 2022 Moose began to uncontrollably vomit what appeared to be stomach bile and clear fluid. Around 5pm I rushed him to Ramtown Animal Hospital where X-rays, bloodwork, physical exam, urine tests and fecal exams were performed. All his tests came back normal so for hours the vet racked her brain and monitored him. Saturday stomach decompression to empty out fluid build up was performed and seemed to be successful. He seemed to be relieved and in higher spirits after he came out of anesthesia but just a few hours following the procedure his stomach began to fill again to a point were just looking at it helped understand the discomfort he was in. He was put on more pain meds and was admitted. Kindly enough I was allowed to sleep in his room with him and not leave his side. After what seemed like a hundred phone calls later the vet found an animal hospital that would do an emergency ultra sound at the earliest on Sunday. Sunday morning at 5am we raced out of the vets office and headed to Mt. Laurel Animal Hospital an hour away, he was immediately worked on and admitted to the ER indefinitely. More tests and X-rays, were performed. A stomach tube was inserted to help decompress his stomach when needed along with IVs for fluid. An ultra sounds was performed at 12pm. Again all tests came back negative and the ultra sound came back with no findings. A gastric specialist was also called in. The doctors have ruled out a long list of things but have yet to find the cause of his stomach simply not working properly. The team at Mt. Laurel have decided that Mr. Moose will not be discharged until at least Wednesday with the hopes that by then they have figured out and fixed what ever is wrong with this sweet boy.
As anyone who’s ever owned a pet who has been as near and dear to them as Moose is to me would understand what this pup means to me. The hospital bills are just piling up and adding up and as proud as I am and never willing to ask or accept help for him I WILL.
I have to say that the team at Ramtown Animal Hospital as well as the team currently caring for Moose at Mt. Laurel Animal Hospital have treated Moose better than I could have ever imagined.
I’m asking for assistance with Mr. Moose’s medical bills, any little bit will help
He’s only 7 years old with a long healthy servicing life ahead of him and that can only be accomplished with getting him healthy, home and happy again.
