Web Development Class - Please Help

Hello family and friends and anyone else who may be viewing this fundraising post. As you may or may not know I have been unemployed since  April of 2012 when I was laid off from my dream job with a well-known technology company based in Silicon Valley. Since then I have moved across the country and back to California in search of permanent employment. I have had a few part time jobs but nothing substantial and certainly nothing that has been able to support me and my family without some sort of public assistance. One year ago this week, I was hired, by a radio broadcasting company in Fresno, California, after 2 ½ years of unemployment, for what I thought would be the last job I would ever have. I moved my family here from Henderson, Nevada in what I hoped would be the last move I would ever have to make. Unfortunately there were poitical issues within the company that I was unaware of and after 2 weeks I was let go. With double digit unemployment in the Central Vally of California it has been extremely difficult to find any work at all so at the end of last year I taught myself how to repair cellular phones and tablet computers and I started a small repair business to try and make ends meet. I have been doing a few repairs per week but the business has not grown as much as I had hoped it would. Now after a year of struggling to get by and living on credit cards, I decided that I had no other choice and I applied for cash aid through Cal-Works which can be a very humiliating experience. However through the Cal-Works program I was enrolled in Geekwise Academy and I am taking a course in Web Development including courses in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. It is a very intensive 6 month program that keeps me busy from 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday leaving me no time to pursue gainful employment. I am also taking online classes in these same subjects on weekends. The courses include many networking opportunities outside of class with companies that are on the cutting edge of the technology boom that is taking place in Fresno. My ultimate goal is to complete these courses and to be ready to work within the next 6 months.

My problem is that I have run out of financial resources. So as a last resort in order to generate the funds I need to survive the next six months, I am asking family and friends to please donate what you can. I know that it sounds like a lot of money but if 100 people can donate $150.00 each, I can make it till graduation. If 200 people can donate $75.00 each, if 300 donate $50.00 each you can see it can add up fast. The hardest thing I've had to do is to ask for your help. But desperate times call for desperate measure and if I don't ask, the only outcome I guarantee is failure. Don’t let the amount of money scare you. Every bit counts. Please donate what you can and, please share this among your friends and tell them it is a cause worth getting behind. Thank you for reading this and thank you for donating!

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek; and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened".
