Tristan's Transition Fund

Hello! My name is Tristan  and I'm a 23 year old pre-med biology major. I'm planning on graduating and then moving onto medical school where I hope to become a doctor specializing in transgender healthcare. I have a long road ahead of me before I get there and unfortunately, being  trans myself does not make it any easier. In addition to being a full-time student, I also work part-time as a barista in order to afford the many costs related to transitioning. Thanks to my companies insurance (shout out to Starbucks), I will avoid having to pay many of the costs related to trans healthcare such as HRT and surgery which can be upwards of $40,000. However, there are still many costs that I will have to handle myself such as co-pays, surgery deposits, travel expenses and anything outside the realm of what is considered normal healthcare coverage. These things can be very difficult for me to afford as a college student and often I'm left considering sacrificing essential items such as groceries in order to support the costs of my transition. This gofundme will serve as a way to fund some of those costs and lessen the financial stresses of being trans (who knew being trans could be so expensive?). I appreciate any amount and I love all of the people in my life who have supported me over the course of my transition, financially or otherwise. Y'all are awesome. Thank you! :)
