UPDATE: Thank You all so much for your donations. Due to the seriousness of her Cancer, we as a family decided it would’ve been best to have the cancerous breast amputated & your funds have made that possible. The initial $30K goal was accounting for getting her out of Ghana (Immigration Fees, Expedited Flight, Hospital Fees, Space to live) to seek better healthcare but time wasn’t on our side & with the surgeries completion we are now moving into the recovery stage & would be grateful for anything you can provide towards the new goal of $15K. Thank you deeply for taking the time to view my campaign, I am truly beyond grateful. My name is Saviour & I've put this campaign together to raise money needed for my ever so amazing mother. Originally from Liberia, we were forced to flee due to the First Liberian Civil War & relocated to Ghana in 1992. Later on we (4 children & my parents) migrated to the United States in 2001 after the successful hard work of the most incredible man I will EVER know, my father Eric Adu... I remember the joy in my 9 year old heart as he explained the new opportunities that would present themselves just by taking the leap of faith. Right when we were so close to achieving our full vision , disastrously, the waves of life hit my family in 2008 on a October Sunday morning... As my father was preaching to the congregation, he collapsed and died due to a severe Brain Aneurysm, an event we all witnessed & have yet to fully bounce back almost 11 years later.
From there, everything was a downward spiral & circumstances led to my mother leaving the States back to Ghana in 2012. Immigration policies and laws got even more strict around that time-frame & my mother hasn't been allowed back into the USA since. 6 YEARS... 6 years without her physical smiles, great sense of humor & motherly love. Nevertheless, things only got worse when she got test results back after battling recurrent discomfort & restlessness that showed it was Cancer. After everything... another ridiculous amount of weight that we her children & my brother in law could barely lift but have managed through funding her Housing, Hospital & Dietary needs.
All these years I've been a warrior, flourishing into a man through my trials & not letting it break my spirit but as it approaches 7 years of her absence the need to get my beautiful mother back is my ONLY focus. When my father passed, we were in process of our 2nd attempt of filing for full citizenship but being the Head of Household filing for us, our application immediately became invalid after his passing. I would've had the chance to see her with Advance Parole being a DACA recipient, but with the programs termination, that's no longer an option. With all that has happened, I have been extremely inspired and passionate to use my creative side to find my eternal sunshine until i can see my mother again & that is all I am chasing. My goal is to continue to showcase my strength through my music & art, in hopes and prayers that it leads me exactly where I need be.
REACHING THE $15,000 GOAL WILL ALLOW OUR FAMILY TO:
1. Pay for all Medication, Check-ups & Rehabilitation as she has already had her surgery & removed the cancer.
2. Continue to pay for her everyday/monthly needs, rent & utilities for her space.
3. Look further into options of relocating her to a different country with a better healthcare system. Doing so comes with Filling for a Visa, Lawyer Fees, Bio-Metrics, Travel Fees & etc.
Through your generosity, I am assure WE WILL be able to help & save my mother. Kindly, If you are moved to helping me get $1 closer to my goal then I know there are other amazing people as compassionate as you.
