Hi my names pam, I am so blessed to have 2 lovely wheelchair dogs fortuna and dulcie. Both from Romania. Fortuna was a street dog, 6 months old when she was picked up off the street after being hit by a car. She had a fractured spine and dragged her back legs. When she was well enough to travel, she went to Germany to teach students how to do therapy on disabled dogs. After a couple of years she came to England to wolfies legacy a disabled dog charity. She was fostered by a lovely lady until I had her 4 years ago. She has a best friend she goes for walks with, who is also in a wheelchair. They run and sniff and really enjoy there outings together. A few weeks ago she was diagnosed as having glucoma in both her eyes. This causes pressure build up and is on pain relief and drops to try to reduce the swellingin the eyeballs. On our last visit the vet advised removing both eyes at a cost of £700 ASAP. She is a very energetic girl who has never let her disability stop her. She still has so much life and energy left in her. She is eating well and still enjoys the garden and walks, and having lots of love and cuddles. Please if you can spare anything to help our beautiful girl we would very much appreciate it.
