Byron has been a longtime railroader working in various positions over the years with NJ Transit. He put countless hours into the railroad; working long hours, overtime, and still being available to his crew during his off time hours. Meanwhile, he still found time to take his wife to countless doctor appointments for her
cancer treatment, initially breast cancer, with a later diagnosis and treatment for brain
cancer. In 2019, he suffered the loss of his
wife, an unimaginable blow to him and his two
children. Still reeling from the loss and trying
to cope with his grief, he suffered a stroke a
few month later; an unforeseen complication of a routine carotid artery plaque removal
elective surgery. He suffered significant losses; an initial inability to eat, weakness to his
entire right side, and speech impairment being the most significant. Due to these side effects, he was no longer able to work, a pastime he
previously threw himself into wholeheartedly. Unable to work or receive unemployment benefits, he’s currently waiting to be approved for disability, retirement and any type of medical coverage.
Byron is now in a time of need so let’s help him out, anything is better than nothing and it
would help him and his family greatly.
Thank you! ❤️❤️
