Jackie and Lakota
Beautiful, bright and caring Jackie Brown, Class of 2017 Holliston High School, has been courageously battling Rhabdomyosarcoma over the past 3+ years. During this time, she has endured numerous rounds of aggressive cancer treatments with an amazing and compassionate team at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Throughout Jackie’s treatments, her greatest source of strength and unconditional love is her Mustang Lakota.
Lakota has been instrumental in Jackie’s journey and gives her purpose to live and love even on the days that have been beyond difficult. Lakota is a friendly, loving 15-year-old mare originally from the Kiger HMA in Oregon. She happily lives at a small barn in Holliston and is loved by the other horses and boarders.
Unfortunately, Jackie’s health is declining, and she can no longer care for Lakota. Jackie’s wish is for a long-term plan to care for her. Funds received will ensure Jackie’s Lakota is well cared for and remains at her loving home and with her barn family.
