USS Key West SSN-722

I am looking to raise money to procure a memorial bench in the honor of the past and future USS Key West Submarines. The bench will be placed at the Cold War Memorial in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The memorial is extensive with many other past boats, with diesel boats having several benches too. It is right across the road from the USS Yorktown and Medal of Honor Memorial. 

I was a previous submariner while the USS Key West was stationed in Guam 2013-2016 and made many lifelong friends. 

I happened upon a reunion of sailors from the USS Sennet (a Diesel boat that did some work out there in the pacific during WWII) and what little bit of dig-itness left in me thought it would be awesome to have one for the USS Key West.

Update: We need to make the 50% deposit mark for them to begin fabrication ($1695.50)

Update: We currently have $1,492 of the required $3,400 for the bench. (~44%). I am feeling less hopeful for reaching our goal. 32 previous Key West Sailors have donated and I know this is only a fraction but I understand this may fall towards the bottom on financial priorities for some. I am setting a goal of 75 more days to make a considerable jump or else the GoFundMe will be removed and the money returned.
