Hi everyone,
Something really bad happened, and I wanted to know if you’d be willing to help. I normally wouldn’t be so presumptuous as to ask, but I think this deserves a glance: my sister Dr. Kimberly McCann is a veterinarian, and one of her techs, Donna Harless, heard from her brother when she was on her way home that her house was engulfed in flames. It was hellish, and the house was a total loss. Worse, she’s so far found one of her cats, cause of death likely smoke inhalation. Better than fire. The other two are missing. The kitten she was nursing back to health, Penny, had taken a turn for the worse, so was at Kim’s clinic at the time.
She now has no home, the clothes she was wearing, and Penny, whom Kim (my sister) is determined to keep alive and appears to be doing better. Her fever is gone, so that’s something.
What I am getting at is that I’m trying to do my absolute best to help this poor woman and her remaining little loved one to in some way get back on their feet, so I’ve sort of flailed out to all the friends I can think of and asked if they’ve got anything they can spare to help. $5, $10, $25, whatever. Anything at all. I managed $100 as I didn’t really want stuff for Christmas anyway and this is a better use.
If you can’t, totally fine! I’m just trying to reach anyone possible in an attempt to make things.. better. You know? I’ve always just wanted to make things better. To make it be okay. I know I can’t win against this, but I can try.
And if you can think of anyone at all who might be willing to pitch in, could you please send it to them, too? We can all try to help heal this nightmare.
