Our beloved Dr. Jelda Frank is dealing with some life changing health issues. While travel nursing on the West Coast, she started experiencing some back pain in March of this year. Thinking it was nothing major she went to urgent care & was told she probably pulled a muscle and was given pain meds. In early April, Jelda’s back pain became unbearable so she went to the ER to be seen. After completing various imaging & testing there, the doctor informed her that she has cancer but was unsure of the type. She was then admitted for further testing where they confirmed her diagnosis of Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Outside of her back pain, she never had a lump nor did she experience any other symptoms. Although Jelda was in shock, her strength and spirit remain unshaken as she knows God is in full control and will see her through this!!

In Jelda’s words, “Cancerita gotta go honey”…..yes her silly self named it “Cancerita” lol. After being told by doctors that the type of breast cancer she has is “very treatable”, she started her treatment on the West Coast and is now back home continuing it here with family & friends.

Y’all already know that even in the midst of what Jelda’s going through, she’s still gonna be the life of any party/room clowning & making us laugh per usual lol!! Whether you know her from being a NICU nurse, a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, her love for Halloween & horror, her karaoke videos, her weird eating habits, etc., she needs our support now more than ever. She’s always there for others, consistently giving the last of herself & now it’s our turn to show up & show out for her.
