CELEBRATING PAT LYNN

Since Pat’s untimely death in November, we have been searching for a constructive way to share our grief and honor her memory, something that we think Pat would love. We believe we’ve found a most fitting tribute, and we hope you’ll agree.

“The Blues Committee” in Pat’s hometown of Lima, Ohio, is an active group of dedicated volunteers, who for 24 years has worked to preserve Blues history, support Blues education in the schools, and celebrate Blues excellence through performances. Pat was passionate about her love for the Blues. Wherever she went, she looked for live Blues performances, and her playlist included all the greats.

Through various fundraising efforts, including a very successful weekend performance extravaganza by Blues artists, the Lima Blues Committee, led by Jerry “Pickle” Felter and his dedicated volunteers has provided at least $3000 annually for an Artist in Residence or Blues in the Schools program in the Lima City Schools. The professional Blues performers have worked with students of all ages in many different classroom settings. Educators recognize the value of music experiences for students. And students are thrilled with the opportunity to interact with a professional musician in new and creative ways. The artists are always warmly welcomed and enthusiastically appreciated by students, teachers, and the community.

Our goal is to sponsor a Blues in the Schools program in the Lima City Schools in Pat’s memory. We believe she would be thrilled to support spreading the love of Blues, especially to children. Please join us in honoring this beautiful woman who brought a spirit of “joie de vivre” to the lives of all of us who were lucky enough to call her friend.
