We are reaching out with hopeful hearts to ask for your love and support.

Our dear friend, husband, father, son, uncle, brother, and American Hero, was recently diagnosed with Leptomeningeal cancer, which is a rare and serious condition that occurs when cancer cells spread to the thin tissue layers that protect the brain and spinal cord. Unfortunately, this is not Matt’s first battle with cancer as he was previously diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and was actually just 9 days away from being declared cancer free by his stem cell doctor before receiving this devastating diagnosis. Fortunately, Matt is a fighter but he and his family have had to endure more than any family should ever have to and they can use our help now, more than ever.

For those who know Matt and Lisa, you know the love and light they bring into every space they enter. Matt, a Military veteran, has spent his adult life serving our great Country and if you know anything about the Military, you know that Military spouses are the unenlisted heroes behind the scenes. Matt and Lisa have also been foster parents to some of the most vulnerable children and somehow always made a way to make room in their home and hearts for anyone who needed them. Throughout their lives, they have been coaches, mentors, and the best friends anyone could ask for, all while raising their six amazing children. They have given so much of themselves to others over the years, and now it’s our turn to surround them with love and lift them up during this difficult time.

Matt has already begun rounds of chemotherapy and radiation as part of his treatment plan and will continue to receive care at The James Cancer Center. Your generosity will allow Matt to focus fully on his recovery without the added weight of financial stress.
