About two years ago, I walked into a ballroom dance studio for the very first time. Little did I know that at that very moment, my life would change forever. A change that would bring me an abundance of happiness. I thought I was perhaps in a dream. How in the world could ballroom dancing bring me so much joy?!! In fact, I cannot remember a time in my entire life where I was filled with so much bliss and excitement. My very exsistance became consumed by my newfound love.
Before ballroom dance, I was in a troubled place in my life. I had gone through a difficult breakup and wasn't happy at the way my life was playing out for me. I was headed down a dangerous path and knew that I needed something to turn my life around.
Not only has ballroom dancing made me happy, it has transformed me into a more confident and strong individual in everyday life. I'm more productive at work, I have great relationships with my friends and family. Just all around, I'm a more complete person.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be performing in showcases and competiting in ballroom competitions. Back in April of 2015, I went to a competition at the Fairmont in Banff, Canada. What a magical experience that was! In my All Around, I came in third out of 15 couples. I was not expecting to place so well especially at my very first comp. It is the highlight of this journey I am on. This is what I am supposed to be doing right now at this very moment in my life. I'm good at this and want to get better everyday. Way better!!
Ballroom dancing is very expensive and costs thousands of dollars every year. I've come to a point where I have drained my savings and all other options I had to pay for my lessons. It is not in my nature to ask for help, especially with money, but not being able to dance is just not an option for me. It is my oxygen, my passion and has become part of my soul.
I've started an online business as well to sell my own custom made ballroom jewelry to help with my lessons, but I have not had a great deal of luck just yet. Here is the link https://www.etsy.com/shop/MyBallroomBoutique
I humbly ask you to please consider donating to help me keep my dream alive. Every little bit you can spare would help. I will be eternally grateful for your kindness and support, and will have a dance for each and every one of you. Thank you!
PS Another option is to become a sponsor. Please message me if you are interested.
Sincerely,
Cindy
