I have a dear friend at work, Dana Singleton, who really needs your help right now. Dana is so humble, kind, and would give you the shirt off her back. She is always helping others either emotionally or physically. She is an awesome person and no matter what she is going through, she always has a smile and hug for you.
She has had it really rough the past 17 months with two surgeries - the first was an emergency surgery to remove her colon and the second to construct a new J pouch and ileostomy. During her recoveries, she has had so many complications including sepsis, pneumonia, and so many other difficulties which required many hospitalizations.
She is now undergoing her third, and hopefully, final surgery to have an ileostomy takedown and begin using her J pouch that was created eight weeks earlier. During this 6 week recovery, she will not have any pay. She is not eligible for short or long term disability payments because they say she has a pre-existing condition.
She made it through the first 5 months of recovery time with no pay due to generous donations in a previous go fund me drive, along with taking out a home equity loan, and withdrawing all of her retirement. During the past 17 months she has only received 8 months a pay.
Dana is very worried about how she will provide for her family during this 6 week recovery time with no pay, so I suggested we do another fundraiser. It's hard for Dana to ask for your help, so I am doing it for her. If everyone could give a little to this worthwhile cause, she would be so grateful.
