As some of you know, on March 25th, after a trip to the emergency room, Jake was given the diagnosis NO ONE wants to hear, especially at 24 years old, “you have cancer.” He underwent surgery two days later to remove the mass, followed by a short hospital stay. While recovering from surgery and waiting to set up his chemotherapy treatment schedule, he had to undergo an emergency second surgery due to a severe infection in the initial surgery site, leading to a weeklong hospital admission delaying the start of chemotherapy treatments. Jake is the most hard-working young man most people will EVER meet!! Since his diagnosis, he has continued to work (even when he probably shouldn’t!!) but, due to his short tenure at his current company, he cannot qualify for any paid medical leave. After exhausting all his paid time off, he pushes himself to work 1-2 weeks a month between his aggressive 5-day chemotherapy treatments. Jake is an intelligent, prideful, loving son, brother, and uncle. During this time, let’s show him he is NOT in this FIGHT ALONE!! Any contributions will go directly towards the growing hospital bills, co-pays, testing and treatment costs. Jake and our family would most appreciate anything you can contribute.
