Guille's Medical Fund

My mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor in May 2014, resulting in several surgeries that year and once again in January 2015, after some of the tumor unfortunately grew back.  Her brain injury has caused her to be cognitively impaired, resulting in many medical bills/expenses (for medication, MRI’s, physical therapy, Dr visits etc).  Every year, a deductible of $5000.00 has to be met, before the insurance pays 100%.  We have been relying on savings to make ends meet for the past two years.  Along with the medical expenses, she also has a live in caretaker about 65% of the time (myself, George and Georgie care for her the other days), as she requires 24 hour care.  Since the bills kept adding up, we as a family decided to take money out of her deferred compensation to pay off bills and help pay for her caretaker.  This was an unexpected illness, as my mom was completely healthy prior to this, and we are dealing with it the best we can.  We had to resort to her money that was initially reserved for her retirement to help keep our head above water, as she doesn’t qualify for Medi-Cal or In Home Supportive Services.  This has been stressful and a financial hardship on our family to say the least, and now the savings is running out.  Our lives have changed dramatically, and we didn’t think we would have to resort to this.  We are raising money to help pay for her medical expenses, and to assist in helping pay for her caretaker.  Any help would be greatly appreciated, and we are so thankful for all the love and support that we have received these past two years.  Speaking on my mother’s behalf, I know she would be extremely thankful for any assistance given, as she deserves the best medical treatment.     From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you… God bless!
