I need help

I was unemployed for a while but looking for a job. I found a job but money was still tight during the training period and they were dragging it out, so I had a choice to make, either keep paying my cell phone bill so I could keep hearing from from other prospective employers or delay paying car insurance for a short while until I could catch up. I hadn't had a car accident in over 15 years so it seemed like a simple answer. I was wrong.

I had a car accident as an uninsured driver, my car skidded in the rain and I hit another car. After over 15 years on the same policy I let it lapse, and now it feels like the world is falling in. Things were getting fixed, now they are worse than ever.

I drove without car insurance. It was a calculated risk and I lost.

If you could help I would appreciate it, but if your response is a lack of sympathy I understand. Believe me, you couldn't kick me harder than I'm kicking myself.
