In the beginning of February Sandi, my mother, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Three weeks later she had surgery to have it removed. On March 20th, she began her chemo treatments. She is on her third chemo treatment so far and the treatments are hitting much harder than expected by affecting the neuropathy in her feet and increasing the pain from her fibromyalgia, making it hard to do every day things, no matter how much she puts on a brave face about the constant discomfort and pain. It has been a few months and my parents have come to realize that not only was going to go be an emotional battle but also a financial one. They received prayers, words of strength and encouragement from their family and friends, that where empowering and uplifting. Friends have asked what they could do or how they could help, and maybe it was their strong pride but Sandi and Ed always declined thinking they could handle whatever was coming. With only one person working in the house soon the financial burden could be felt. So now I reach out to you all on their behalf because if anyone has ever met my parents they know they would never ask for themselves. If you want to contribute here is your chance, this is something they can no longer do alone, no matter how much they think they can. This money will help lift some of the financial stress that my mother worries about daily. The goal is small, they do not need much, and every little bit helps.
