Help Pepe fight Brain Tumors

I rescued Pepe from the streets on July 25,2013. But in reality he rescued me. I searched endlessly for possible owners, but no one claimed him. At first my plan was to foster him and find him a great home. But I knew deep in my heart I wouldn’t be able to let him go. So I foster failed and promised him I would never abandon him and give him the best life I possibly could.

 

Unfortunately last year Pepe started having seizures and he continued to have them every month. Things started to get more critical when he started having cluster seizures. After numerous trips to the emergency hospital, we decided to do an MRI of his brain. On August 18, I received the phone call, I had prayed and hope I wouldn’t get. The neurologist informed me that Pepe has two brain tumors that are not operable. My heart shattered into pieces.

 

The treatment plan the neurologist suggested was to put him on an anti-inflammatory medication to help reduce the swelling in his brain. And to set up a consultation with a radiation oncologist to see if radiation would be an option. If radiation is possible, this will be a very expensive treatment.

 

Tonight has been a rough night for Pepe, he had a total of 4 seizures. We rushed him to a vet in Orange County to have him stabilized and monitored overnight. My poor baby has spent so many nights at different hospitals, confused and stressed. Tomorrow he will be seeing another neurologist to see if another seizure medication should be added. He will be seeing 3 different specialist in the next few weeks. All the emergency visits, testing and specialist fees have been so costly.

 

Pepe has been such a fighter and I want to be there to help him past this and continue giving him the best life possible. He has brought me so much joy and lobe in my life.
