Support David's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
As some of you might know, over the last two years, David has been attempting to recover from an injury that resulted in several broken bones in his right leg and foot. A few days before Thanksgiving, Dad wasn't feeling well, and he thought it was time to go to the hospital. At the hospital, they found that he has a very serious bacterial infection in his bone from his various surgical wounds that antibiotics cannot cure. This infection also spread to his bloodstream.
He has had multiple infections during his recovery from this injury that his care team has cleared. The care team presented him and us with the decision today to either clean the wound again and likely continue the same cycle of infection or to amputate the leg just below the knee. Dad and his family decided that amputation was the best route, as this would ultimately provide him better quality of life and the opportunity to be here for many more years to spend with his family. The hope is to get him feeling well enough to put the effort towards physical therapy and hopefully walking with a new prosthetic!
As everyone knows, medical and rehabilitation bills are a great financial burden. We hope to ease that burden for our family this holiday season with any donations provided here. If you are not able to or do not wish to donate, shares, thoughts, and prayers are just as appreciated.
THANK YOU!
