Shits and Giggles in Paris?

Guys, so........... who knew........ somehow I've been selected to represent Great Britain in Paris at the MCI European Championships in October 2023. Obviously, on Zaf and not the DG.......... phew…….

Honoured, thrilled, incredibly proud, goes without saying, but then I looked into the cost........ jeeze, nearly as expensive as the bloody horse.....

My unseen, untried, lockdown purchase stole my heart from the start! Moving to the dark side from Germans, not easy - very, very different rides (infinitely safer though lol), but we are now a team, have had some fantastic results (my first sashes too) and he SO deserves to go to Paris.

Everything has to be self-funded so transport with EHB (via Euro tunnel) and stabling with them for 3 nights prior to leaving, vet checks/paperwork (UK & France), more vet checks & authorisation paperwork for entering France, plus the same for returning to the UK, entries, stabling & hook up at the venue (7 nights) team uniform (opening & closing ceremonies), getting me and my groom (guess who) there and so it goes on……..

My plan is for myself and Paul (naturally, he can’t wait…… ) to go over in my lorry (so no hotel costs, just diesel & some sort of lorry kit that you need to drive a lorry in France with) and then we can also be on site to keep an eye on Zaf 24/7.

At 61, I kind of feel that his is 'my Olympics' so I've got to give it my best shot, so........ I'm doing a Go Fund Me page (don’t hate me).

Any help, however small, would be truly appreciated and I promise no hard feelings if you can’t contribute.

Obviously happy to put business logos on my rugs and tag in any of my friends who have companies that would like to contribute!

If we get there, of course, I’ll be doing a blog so you’ll all be with me

every step of the way……. I may even write that book!
