As I said in the video, the land that was once Polish - that is now in Ukraine - is a special place for me and the most beautiful memories of my life.

That's why I was so disturbed by Russia's military onslaught and the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

I remember the Second World War very well. 

I remember the famine, I remember my sister being deported to Germany for forced labour, 

I remember when the Gestapo came for my brother and I still don't know where his grave is.

I remember the bombing and shelling 

and I remember how the moving frontline cut me off from home for a few days.

Please remember  - 

world wars always start with an attack on one country ONLY, and then they spread over the whole continent and maybe even the world.

I decided to set up a fundraiser to help with medical supplies for hospitals and ambulances in bombed and shelled areas. 

Hospitals will use them on the spot, but they will also give them to the population in the dangerous area, as it is often the case that transport to hospital or help from doctors is not possible immediately

Such medical packages include specialised dressings and medicines

That is they are very expensive - one costs 800 PLN / 150 GBP / 170 USD / 170 EUR /.

( please note the fluctuating exchange rate )

Sticking to the number 95, I would like to raise money to buy 9 500 medical packages to save lives. 

For this amount of money we need 

7 600 000 PLN / 1 388 000 GBP

 / 1 606 000 USD / 1 612 000 EUR

The purchase will, of course, be handled by the Foundation, which deals with supplies for Ukraine. 

You will be informed in detail about everything.

I have already told you that I will try to repay you and thank you as much as I can, so I will do my challenge - I am 95 years old so I will walk 95 km and do 95,000 steps.

I will need a few weeks, but I will do it for sure

Finally, I will tell you a true story from my life  

I was born in 1927 in the town of Sniatyn. 

In my documents my place of birth was written as Poland. 

After the Second World War, the borders of the countries in Europe changed and in my documents my place of birth was written as the Soviet Union. 

In 1991, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine regained its independence and.... In my passport, my place of birth was entered as 

- Ukraine.
