Assist Stacy in Her Battle with Myeloma

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Anjellique, I am Stacy’s daughter-in-law and one of her caregivers. This fundraiser is for one of the strongest, most caring, and thoughtful people I know. In the years that I’ve come to know Stacy, she has been an example of independence, perseverance, and strength. To see that her life plan has another obstacle for her to face has made our whole family come closer together for her.

Through this time, there have been multiple generous people in our community and her peers who have blessed her with financial assistance that has carried her through her time out of work up to now. We are all so thankful for her friends, colleagues, and community that have extended their arms to help her through this time. Each prayer, positive thought, kind word, check-in, and donation is humbly appreciated.

Our family is starting this page with hopes that we can raise additional funds to cover upcoming bills including rent, light, phone, car payments (including insurance), medical bills, and food for Stacy. After speaking with her new doctor in November of 2024 regarding symptoms and elevated blood findings that were not improving with traditional treatments, Stacy underwent cancer screening processes to determine why all of this was happening. There is a strong family history of cancer in the family, including with her mother. After receiving the new panels, it was determined that more testing was needed, but the suspicion of multiple myeloma was the reason. There were more blood tests, and a bone marrow test was completed. Her results confirmed Multiple Myeloma was the cause. She was referred to the Mayo Clinic in FL, where she has already had to stay overnight to complete tests requested by her Oncology Specialist. A complete PET scan was performed to determine any additional diagnosis. After all testing was completed, we received the wonderful news that she is in the smoldering stage and could benefit from treatment using regimen Revlimid, Valcade and Dexamethasone. I think that’s the correct spelling) for 2 years. The follow-up on July 1st will be a detailed explanation of findings and to determine whether or not she will need to save stem cells as well as scheduling that procedure. During all of this, Stacy has also gone to the dermatologist for a rapidly growing and increasingly painful spot on her right shin. On the first visit, an immediate biopsy was requested as well as 4 spots “frozen” to remove cancerous cells. It was determined this was a cancerous spot most likely stemming from her Multiple Myeloma diagnosis. The follow-up visit discovered a new location on her lower lip on the left side that was also biopsied. We just got a call today, 6/23/25, letting us know that the spots on her leg and lip were different. The joyous news was the one on her lip was non-invasive and should have been totally removed when biopsied. However, the spot on her leg would need additional excision and would best be performed by a plastic surgeon because a skin graft was more than likely necessary afterwards. We are awaiting that call at this time.

I am currently trying to relocate while applying for open positions near her to assist her with some day-to-day things while she is undergoing oral chemotherapy treatments and awaiting appointments with a plastic surgeon for the two lesions that have been biopsied and returned as cancerous. Both of her sons, Justin and Travis, have been helping as they are able while also carrying their personal responsibilities in our own families.

While Stacy has been out almost three months from her job on leave, she has made no income. She has been able to pay her bills due to financial donations from those around her for a total of $800 and donated vacation days from her peers and two programs recommended by her doctor's offices that in total has paid $600, which have been a tremendous help in keeping her afloat. We are not sure how long it will be before her procedure(s) are scheduled and what the recovery time will look like for either.

This fund has factored in bills, travel expenses and health costs. We have been very fortunate for all of the love and support in every form from each and every person. We appreciate you for reading our story, and we will try to update weekly and as we are able.

Thank you from our family to yours!
Have a blessed day!
