I’m writing this post about two truly remarkable people. My brother-in-law, Brad, has been on dialysis for several years as he awaits a kidney transplant, and his wife, Joan, has been his unwavering caregiver through it all. Despite the financial strain, they continue to persevere. In an extraordinary act of love, Joan has decided to donate one of her kidneys to someone in need, even though she’s not a match for Brad. This selfless act will take place on September 16th, with the hope that it will speed up Brad’s chance of receiving a kidney. This journey involves numerous trips to New York City, which is costly, and Joan will also need time off work to recover and care for Brad after his transplant. This is a significant source of stress for them, and I hope we can help ease some of that burden
