Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out for help as I found out yesterday that Mazy is suffering from Jaundice—a life threatening condition that requires urgent care. On Friday, 3 days ago, she began vomiting and refused to eat, which led me to bring her in for a consultation. The vet urged me to have her admitted as her bilirubin levels were explosive and highly above average. Since the cost to keep her overnight was extremely high, I brought her home hoping antibiotics and at home care would help improve her condition, but once she arrived home, she refused to eat and her condition worsened. I had no choice to bring her in today for urgent care and she will be spending the night on IV, being fed food by a tube in her nose, and tomorrow or Wednesday (latest) she will have an ultrasound to find out more answers, at which point I will update you all. So far with the blood tests, we have ruled out leptospirosis and viral hepatitis. The liver is definitely compromised, we just want to narrow it down so that she receives the exact care that she needs. I understand that these are difficult times financially for everyone but any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
