Hi. Anyone who knows
John Ayling knows what an amazing, kind, fun-loving, athletic, positive, 15 year old sweet soul he is. As most people were getting ready for the Holidays, on Dec. 21, 2019, Johnny and his family found out that he had a large cancerous mass above his knee , the size of a baseball spreading up and down his femur bone. On January 1, Johnny began chemotherapy. He bravely had begun his fight taking daily trips to NYC to Sloan Kettering. After the first round, traveling back and forth was extremely difficult as Johnny was suffering from nausea and exhaustion. These past weeks, he has been spending a few days up to over a week at the Ronald McDonald House. With the Carona virus they will now have to commute for treatment. He has been going strong for 10 weeks but will need to do at least 5 more weeks of chemo treatment at which time the doctors will assess the tumor. Surgery will follow, hopefully the tumor will have shrunk and can be removed without complication He will then follow surgery with 15 more weeks of chemo and physical therapy will begin.
As you can imagine this has been a very difficult time (despite John’s amazing and positive attitude). Although we can’t fix this for a Johnny our support could certainly help to make this time a little less stressful for him and his family as this is financially stressful due to all of the traveling, meals, and Cindy taking a leave from work to take care of him. We would so appreciate any amount you can give to show your love and support for Johnny and his family. Thank you!
