I am writing this on behalf of Dan Vanca's family and as a tribute to my friend.
This is a campaign to raise money for a scholarship for a West Milford High School student or students for the graduating year of 2016, in memory of our dear friend Dan Vanca who lost his battle to Cancer on Feburary 13, 2016 in Torrance CA.
Dan  graduated  WMHS in 1978 and attended William Paterson College. He was a West Milford native for 25 years before moving to CA. There he worked in the movie industry including Paramount Pictures and most recently for Warner Brothers.
Dan loved sports and was an avid Mets Fan
In high school Dan was involved in being the freshman baseball manager, football manager for 3 years, basketball manager for 3 years, student council for 2 years, treasurer in sophmore year, bowling team, ski club, school newspaper, school play, AFS exchange student in CA, homecoming king nominee, and voted "Did the Most for WMHS" in his senior year.
Dan loved his high school and the relationships made there. He had a deep devotion and loyality to West Milford and that is why we feel this would be the best way to honor and remember him.
