My name is Kaden and I'm a transgender illustrator from California. I have finally, after years of dreaming, received the date for my top surgery, November 15th, 2019 . For those who are unfamiliar, top surgery (mastectomy) is the surgical removal of breast tissue for relief of gender dysphoria, something that many trans men experience. This will improve the quality of my life beyond what I could have ever hoped for.
Unfortunately, due to the type of day job I have, I am very tight on money. On top of that, I will be needing to take a minimum of half a month off to recover, which will leave my bank very bare. We just recently moved into a new apartment, and because of that, I am struggling with rebuilding savings.
The donations from this will insure that I will not only be able to pay the $3,994.40 copay for the surgery, but also be able to have money for rent for when I'm recovering. Any money that may be left over from those will be going directly to whatever medical check ups I will have during recovery.
To expand more upon the necessity of this procedure: I experience daily gender dysphoria. My body not aligning to the gender I am, and present as, causes extreme distress and induces panic and depressive episodes. Knowing that when people see me, and see my chest, that they automatically code me female, causes a distress that I can't quite put into words. This procedure will relieve all of that from me. I will be able to live fully, to the best I can be and be happy with who I am.
Thank you so much for coming here and hearing me out. Here's to hope.
