Rob's Road to Recovery

My brother Rob Turning [some of you know him as Bob or Robbie] retired last year, and he and his wife Millie moved to Florida to enjoy their “golden years.” Unfortunately, Rob was recently diagnosed with head and neck cancer. Because he does not have medical insurance, he is receiving treatment through the Veterans Administration. He is getting excellent care from the VA hospital in Gainesville, Florida, but, unfortunately, the VA does not cover all costs. Some of Rob's out-of-pocket expenses include prescriptions and medical supplies associated with his chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and he must travel to the hospital from his home in Ocala several times a month. Those trips are expected to become more frequent in the coming months. He has had to hire someone to take care of his yard work, a chore he has always enjoyed.
