Friends and family,

Our much adored brother and cousin John Ryan needs your help. In July 2023 John returned home for his beloved Mum/Eileen’s funeral. During this time he began to feel unwell. An X-ray revealed a devastating diagnosis - stage 4 prostate cancer.

Because of John’s many years in Thailand he is no longer considered an habitual resident of either Ireland or the UK, even though he holds both passports and has worked in both countries. This means he is unable to access government assistance.

As you may know, John is a happy-go-lucky person always ready to chat about about his love of music, films and football (particularly Tottenham!). He has lived a quiet, simple life in Thailand with his partner Bank but remained in touch with family and friends regularly.

We are asking you all for any help you can give. All funds collected will be used for medical needs, rent and everyday expenses. We also hope that Bank will be able to visit him in Ireland to support him. Thank you for your generosity, we will keep you updated on his health and well being. Please feel free to offer messages of support which we will be happy to share with him.
