Please help me beat Cancer.

I never imagined that at 30 years old, I would be fighting for my life. My name is Rahimul, and I am a Bangladeshi man living in Australia with my wife, who is here pursuing her Master’s degree in Social Work. Until just a few months ago, life felt normal. I was healthy, active, and full of plans for the future. Together, we were building our lives step by step, with hope and determination. Everything changed suddenly.

About three months ago, I started experiencing bowel issues. At first, we thought it might be something minor. When I sought medical help, I was told that I would need surgery for a bowel perforation and that a temporary stoma would be placed to allow my body to heal. It was already overwhelming, but we believed it was something I would recover from. But during surgery, everything took a devastating turn. The doctors found traces of cancer cells. What we thought was a temporary health issue became our worst nightmare. After further testing, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 mucinous adenocarcinoma — a rare and aggressive form of colorectal cancer, especially uncommon for someone my age. In a matter of days, my life turned upside down.

Over the past three months, I have undergone three major surgeries, each bringing its own challenges and setbacks. Recovering from one operation was difficult enough, but facing three major procedures in such a short period has taken a tremendous physical and emotional toll on me. My body is still healing, and this prolonged recovery has delayed the start of my chemotherapy, adding to the fear and uncertainty surrounding my treatment. I am currently living with a stoma and preparing to begin chemotherapy. Even basic things have become difficult. I need support just to walk and manage everyday tasks. Because of my condition, I am unable to work, and my focus must now be on healing and preparing for the next stage of treatment. My wife has been my strength through all of this. She is balancing everything on her own — her studies, placement, work, our home, and caring for me full-time. Watching her carry this burden while I struggle physically has been one of the hardest parts of this journey.

While our Overseas Health Insurance has helped cover some medical expenses, many essential treatments, medications, specialist appointments, scans, and tests are not fully covered. Unfortunately, a significant portion of the medications required for my chemotherapy and ongoing cancer treatment are also not covered by our insurance, creating an additional financial burden during an already difficult time. On top of these medical expenses, we are struggling to keep up with everyday costs, including rent, groceries, utility bills, transport, and other essential living expenses. With our income significantly reduced because I am unable to work and my wife’s ability to work is limited while she cares for me and continues her studies, the financial pressure has become overwhelming.

We never imagined that we would be in a position where we would need to ask for help like this. But today, we are reaching out with hope. Your support will help us cover uninsured medical expenses, chemotherapy medications, specialist consultations, scans, and the costs associated with my ongoing cancer treatment. It will also help us manage our rent, daily living expenses, and other essential costs while I am unable to work and my wife has limited capacity to earn an income. Most importantly, your generosity will allow me to focus on my treatment and recovery and enable my wife to continue her studies while caring for me without the constant fear of how we will manage financially.

This fight is not just mine — it is ours. Every donation, no matter how small, and every share of this page means more than words can express. You are not just helping us financially — you are giving us strength, hope, and a chance to keep fighting. Thank you for standing with us during the most difficult time of our lives. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean everything to us, and we are deeply grateful for every person who walks beside us on this journey.

 With gratitude,
 Rahimul & Family
