My name is Robert (Bob) Bonney. I am a friend of Eva Cannon. Eva was just diagnosed with Breast Cancer. What started a week and a half ago as back pain has turned into Stage 4 breast cancer. It has spread to her liver, lung and lymph nodes. It has also metastasized to her spine. She faces the risk of breaking a bone due to the brittleness of her bones. The biggest tumor is 8 cm and is in her liver. The rest of the tumors are between 1-3 cm. Her liver and lymph nodes are both swollen. Today she had a port put in and starts chemo tomorrow (Thursday, December 10, 2015). They are going to treat this cancer aggressively and are starting with the cancer in the liver. Needless to say, this is a sad and scary time for this family.

Eva worked at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau for 8 Years, serving as a Program Director for the Veterans. She attended New McKendree United Methodist Church and was an active member. Her daughter, Emily, went to Jackson High School and graduated in May 2015. Emily started college and moved to Lake of the Ozarks to attend State Fair Junior College on the "A Plus" program. This is also where Eva and Emily's family lives. In September, Eva moved to Lake of the Ozarks to start a new job with the Division of Aging. She also moved there to be with her daughter and to help take care of her parents, Dave and Ellen, who are having some health problems.

For the last eight years, Emily and Eva have been a part of our family. My wife and I considered Emily one of our own children and love her as much as our own. I often teased Eva that I wasn't getting enough "visiting" rights. Emily is such a good person and was raised by her mother, Eva. Eva became a friend of ours when they started attending New McKendree United Methodist Church. Of course, we met her through Emily. Eva was just as friendly and personable and they both quickly became a part of our church circle before ending up as our special family members. I shouldn't say just mine, they have so many friends here in Jackson that I know they are a part of many families here. We all love them both but there is a bigger love then ours and that is between Mother and Daughter. I know of no greater love shared between a mother and her daughter, short of the love given to us by our Savior, Jesus Christ. But they are not fighting this fight alone! So many people have jumped in to battle with her and for her.

Eva started this new job September 28th of this year. I think it is safe to say that this fight will in all likelihood keep her from working and this is a one income family. That income came from Eva. Emily has a part time job at a daycare and is a full time student at the college. Though there is insurance, deductible's, medicines and living expenses will accrue and must be paid. Eva has asked for no help but we, her friends, know she is worried how this will play out. She may have Stage 4 cancer but worries only about her family and friends around her.

We put this out to all her friends and people who would wish to help. If you can not assist, prayers are needed for Eva as she fights to beat this cancer. God Bless You All.

Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
