Hello, my name is Chaina and I gave birth to a set of twins on February 3, 2024, Luke and Sarai. Sarai is the first daughter in the house and is the youngest of 4 brothers. An exact hour after her brother Luke, made his appearance, my second twin “Sarai” was showing signs of complications and
needed to be vacuumed out. She endured bruising on her head which lasted a week and a half. Shortly after being born, Sarai’s sugar levels were tested and they were not regulating so they provided her with extra glucose in a syringe. The doctors told us that I would need to follow up with her pediatrician upon leaving. After being discharged on day 2 from St.Francis Hospital, she was admitted back into the hospital for having jaundice and we stayed in the hospital for another 2 days due to her bilirubin levels not staying consistent. On day 4 she was discharged and was showing no progression with her jaundice so she was admitted into Midtown Piedmont for a day and a half to get more phototherapy. On day 6 her liver kicked into overtime and started to level out her bilirubin levels. Sarai only being home a short 7 days, dad noticed a lump on the right side of her neck which had not been recognized by anyone thus far. Sarai’s first appointment with her pediatrician she was diagnosed her with a heart murmur and was referred to a specialist to get an X-ray and an ultrasound on her neck to determine how to move forward. Today is March 26, 2024 and Sarai was diagnosed with having a tumor. She has to see a surgeon to see whether or not it’s cancerous. We were told that she needs to have surgery as well to get it removed then begin physical therapy. These past two months have been a bittersweet, precious, yet emotional experience with the twins. I have been on my maternity leave which has been unpaid and dad has just been let go from his job due to him being absent because of appointments and being supportive at home during my recovery. The funds that are donated are going towards medical expenses for traveling to and from Atlanta Ga from Columbus Ga for treatment. For the care and upholding the wellbeing of all the kids and our household that’s effected by this emotional diagnosis. Also for the utilities and rent that are never ending even through our hard time right now that will come to an end sooner than later. My family thanks you in advance for any contribution to this go fund me. God is with us and we pray everyday that he continues to watch over our family. We have faith that she will make a successful recovery. She has been a fighter since birth literally and we WILL NOT give up.
