The Isbell family has suffered a devastating loss of all of their instruments, sound equipment, and other items totaling over $10,000 in value. Here is the incident in Eric's own words:
"Friends, we have been dealt a wicked blow by the devil tonight. We had one concert in Columbus, Ohio @ a retirement home. We went to the mall and while we were there took advantage of a great deal to upgrade our phones. We went out to eat after we left the mall and while we were in there, someone bust the lock out of the passenger side door which we didn't discover until later when my wife couldn't open her door and had to climb out my side. They stole around $10,000 worth of sound equipment and instruments. The lose of my instruments hurt the worst because they came from my grandpa Isbell who got me started in music. It feels like losing him all over again and worse. I can't explain how I feel. They stole our livelihood and struck at my very soul and broke my heart. My whole family is devastated. Like losing a loved one. Besides having lost this much, they also took our money bag which didn't have cash but did have checks in it. But the same bag the had this had my calendars for the rest of this year and next. We have 19 more concerts scheduled this week. Many I don't remember where. Guess I will have to call them all to find out. Plus we do not have the equipment or instruments to perform. We are in a whirlwind of emotions right now. Please pray for us! Our babies are so hurt by this. They just cried, we all did. Pray we may somehow recover some or all. My fiddle is my most cherished posession I inherited from my grandpa. I am going call the pawn shops tomorrow to see if anyone has tried to pawn it. We filed a report with the police. Our ministry is all but shutdown at this time. Don't know yet what we going to do."
Let's help the Isbells get back on the road! While we can never replace the precious inherited instruments, we can help them get new equipment and instruments while praying that the heirloom instruments will be located and recovered.
If the Isbell's music has blessed your life, please give what you can to help them in this valley.
