On August 17, 2015 I received a call from my husband's and dad's boss that he didn't know where he was and they were taking him to St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. We met the ambulance at the ER. They thought Jeff had a stroke but a MRI showed that he had not. He was admitted to St. Francis for 12 days where he underwent two MRI's, two CAT scans, two lumbar punctures and many other blood tests. Everything came back negative. They tested for everything they could think of. He is now in IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis for two plus weeks now.  They have done the MRI, CAT, PET scans and lumbar puntures and they have sent the labs to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. The doctors at Methodist suspect CJD, a fatal brain disease but it still has not been diagnosed yet. Jeff still knows people at this point but forgets birthdates, age, address, job title and that people are deceased.  

At this point, we have accumulated a very large medical bill even with insurance.  Jeff did not have short-term disability (he thought he did), therefore our income will stop in two weeks. I (Lori) cannot work until  approx. Spring of 2016 due to recovery from two strokes I had on June 1, 2013. We wouldn't in a million years ask for help if it wasn't needed.  Anything you can do would be a great help.

UPDATE 10/08/15

The doctors at Methodist were notified today that Mayo Clinic has diagnosed Jeff with CJD.  They did a MRI tonight to see how far it has progressed.  He no longer knows people and cannot walk.  He is still at Methodist Hospital.  They are considering moving him to inpatient hospice.   Corbin and I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, kind words, donations and offers of help.   Jeff would be in awe of how much people think of him.
