Our beloved aunt, Ana Eviez, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer — a T2N1 Luminal B tumor. At 70 years old, her age makes the situation much more delicate and urgent, and the doctors have explained that we cannot delay her primary treatment.

Along with the breast tumor, doctors also found three lymph nodes in the mediastinum (the space between the lungs). These nodes will not be removed surgically, but determining whether they are reactive (benign) or something more serious is essential to planning her treatment safely.

Right now, we need to know whether any of these lymph nodes show suspicious activity. Without clarity, planning the safest and most effective treatment becomes much harder.

Why a PET-CT Scan Is Needed

A PET-CT scan can quickly and accurately show whether these nodes are harmless or if they play a role in the cancer.

This test is essential to:

• Identify whether the node is benign or cancerous

• Determine if additional treatment is needed

• Help doctors move forward with her breast cancer surgery safely

However, this study is very expensive, and our family cannot afford it on our own.

Ana dedicated more than 30 years to teaching mathematics at Liceo Riberto Martínez Centeno in Caricuao. She wasn’t just a teacher — she became a guide and mentor for young people from humble communities, inspiring them to believe in themselves and pursue a better future. Many of her former students are now professionals — doctors, engineers, administrators — who still remember the positive impact she had on their lives.

After retiring, she devoted herself fully to her church community, finding in her faith a place of service, hope, and peace. The same dedication she showed in the classroom made her a model of kindness, perseverance, and spiritual strength.

Today, after a lifetime of giving to others, she is the one who needs help.

Además del tumor mamario, los médicos encontraron tres ganglios en el mediastino (el espacio entre los pulmones). Los ganglio no será removido quirúrgicamente, pero saber si es reactivo (benigno) o si sugiere algo más serio es esencial para planificar su tratamiento de la manera más segura.

En este momento, necesitamos saber si esos ganglio muestra actividad sospechosa. Sin claridad, planificar el tratamiento más seguro y efectivo se vuelve mucho más difícil.

¿Por qué necesita un PET-CT?

Un PET-CT puede mostrar rápida y claramente si los ganglios son inofensivo o si tiene un papel en el cáncer.

Este estudio es esencial para:

• Determinar si necesita tratamiento adicional

• Permitir que los médicos avancen con su cirugía de cáncer de mama con mayor seguridad.

Sin embargo, este estudio es muy costoso y nuestra familia no puede cubrirlo por completo.

Ana dedicó más de 30 años a enseñar matemáticas en el Liceo Riberto Martínez Centeno, en Caricuao. No fue solo una maestra: se convirtió en guía y mentora para jóvenes de sectores humildes, inspirándolos a creer en ellos mismos y a buscar un futuro mejor. Muchos de sus estudiantes hoy son profesionales —médicos, ingenieros, administradores— que todavía recuerdan el impacto positivo que dejó en sus vidas.

Tras su jubilación, se entregó por completo a su comunidad eclesiástica, encontrando en la fe un espacio de servicio, esperanza y serenidad. La misma dedicación que mostró en las aulas la convirtió en un ejemplo de bondad, constancia y fortaleza espiritual.

Hoy, después de toda una vida dando a los demás, es ella quien necesita ayuda.
