Support Dave's Stroke Recovery Journey

After attending a family wedding in Mississippi, Dad suffered a major hemorrhagic stroke in the hotel on Saturday night (4/20/24). He and mom had been to the wedding, enjoyed a post-wedding night cap with cousins and were getting ready for bed at about 11:00 p.m. when it hit (had to be up at 5 for an early morning flight the next day!). Amazingly, the hotel just happened to be 3 minutes from the best stroke center in the state of Mississippi. With cousins stationed throughout the hotel to ensure the EMTs could find him, he was at the hospital by 11:15 p.m. By 3:15 a.m. on the 21st , he was in emergency surgery. What followed was 7 days on a ventilator, 9 days in

Neurology ICU and 21 days in a regular Neurology unit all at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. On May 18th, we were able to transport dad via ambulance the 685 miles home to Cincinnati. Once “home”, he spent 27 days at Tri-Health Rehabilitation Hospital. On June 14th , dad officially left rehab and came home to continue his recovery at home.

As you all can imagine, the medical bills are beginning to pile up, and the things we are learning insurance doesn't cover are astounding. Many of you have been asking how you can help, and we are incredibly grateful. We know you all love dad as much as we do, so any little bit is appreciated.
