Buzzy Metayer and Family

Hi. My name is Stacie Metayer. I am one of the children of the hero of many, Buzzy Metayer. Dad has been on hospice due to heart failure and Parkinson’s. Sadly, Dad is nearing the end of his journey here on earth. He can not walk without assistance, stays in bed the majority of the time due to profound weakness and fatigue. He barely eats or drinks. His body is shutting down in preparation for death.

Dad is known throughout the Lewiston/Auburn Maine area. He worked for Lewiston Fire Department and United Ambulance until he retired. Dad was responsible for hanging American, Firefighter and Military flags for many years. Climbing 80 foot trees by himself, always wanting to be anonymous as “It’s not about me, it’s about brotherhood.

Dad has lived in Greenville South Carolina with me for the past 3 years. He was living in Florida when Covid-19 hit and was isolated. By the grace of God he agreed to move in with me. We have had 3 wonderful years together. A true honor and privilege to give back to the man who has done so much for me my entire life.

At this point we are in need of prayers and help financially. I never thought we would be in this position and it’s humiliating me to ask for help.

Dad’s kids are trying to get to South Carolina to see him. Not everyone is able to take time off from work without pay, money is being depleted. Flights and Ubers and trying to make our way to see Dad.

I’m currently out of work due to brain surgery to remove a pituitary tumor. Unfortunately the company I work for considers it a preexisting and I am not able to collect short term disability.

I feel like we are drowning here and need help. If you are not able to donate your prayers are appreciated always.

Dad has always been a man who would help anyone. Now he needs help for his family.
