Buzz Cuts for James! - Bowel Cancer Journey

Donation protected
As someone who has devoted much of the recent years of his life working to help others in their time of need, James has been dealt the shocking diagnosis of early Stage 3 Bowel Cancer.
As one of the most passionate, kind hearted, and hard working paramedics I have been fortunate to work aside and as one of my good friends I am asking for help to give back to a person who has already given so much to others and his local community.

With the stress of having to take time off work with the rising cost of living, mortgage repayments, medical bills and as well as simply the cost of fuel with James having to travel over an hour in each direction from Beaudesert to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment, any financial assistance would be appreciated to allow James to focus on his health.

To support James in his journey I am going to be shaving off my luscious locks. For those of you, I know personally, many of you have never not known me to not have my long head of hair which I have donned for the past 7 years. But in solidarity with my good mate and colleague, I will be shaving it all off. The date and time of this will be announced in the next coming weeks but for now, I ask that you open up and give whatever you can to help assist James and his beautiful partner Ash in the journey that lies ahead for them.

If you’re interested in also joining the cause we are also looking for others who want to cut, shave it or even add a little spray on colour to show your support!

With over 15,300 cases of Bowel Cancer diagnosed in 2023, it is the 4th most commonly diagnosed form of cancer it can affect people of all ages. Symptoms of bowel cancer include:
* change in bowel habits including diarrhoea, constipation or the feeling of incomplete emptying
* a change in the appearance or consistency of bowel movements such as thin bowel stools
* blood in the stools
* abdominal pain, bloating or cramping
* anal or rectal pain
* a lump in the anus or rectum
* weight loss
* unexplained fatigue
* tiredness and/or anaemia (pale complexion, weakness and breathlessness)
* blood in the urine or passing urine frequently or during the night, change in urine colour – dark, rusty or brown.
