Buzby’s “Stroke of Genius” Fund Raiser

Donation protected
Buzby Allen is a truly wonderful man. For over forty years he has entertained hundreds of thousands of holiday makers on the East Coast of England. He is loved by generations of the same families who have grown up with him at the holiday centre he has called home for four decades “potters resorts”. This former UK tourism superstar winner is an enigma, a non stop, energetic dynamo. Full of life and with a desire to bring joy to all those he meets. In his spare time he has helped raise tens of thousands of pounds for good causes but in May this year his life was cruelly turned upside down when he unexpectedly suffered a massive stroke and subsequent brain seizure. A CT scan revealed a large bleed in his brain that was too deep to operate on and so today he remains in hospital with the right side of his body paralysed , unable to talk, eat and therefore currently bed ridden for the foreseeable future. For someone so active and full of life this is a cruel Illness. Even though his role as an entertainer takes up most of his time Buzby is the first to volunteer for any fund raiser or charity event and has gone out of his way to help so many people in need (he even voluntarily mows the lawns of local villages who can’t do it themselves). He has done so much for so many people we know he deserves to be looked after in return, but, he simply would not allow personal charity. He is far to proud and honourable.
I asked him recently to squeeze my hand if he wanted to help the nurses that care for him on the stroke ward at the Hospital. Squeezing my hand is his easiest way to communicate with a yes. This he did instantly and I knew, eventually, he would make it his goal to give something back to this department and the wonderful staff who are sadly lacking in resources. The ward often run their own fund raising events to buy equipment they need and although this seems crazy to many, and after long 12 hour shifts the nurses would agree, they are left with no choice. They do an incredible job and each one has taken Buzby into their hearts and been so kind and thoughtful to both him and us.
So, I believe the way to help Buzby is to let him help others. This will give him a focus during his convalescence and he will, although short on energy and mobility, devote his time to raising awareness and funds for stroke victims and those that care for them.
Knowing that in his name funds are being raised for good causes would inspire him and start him on a journey that eventually could change many lives for the better. That is what he would want and that’s why I believe he’d say this turned out to be “a stroke of genius”.
Therefore if you wish to help Buz help others, his reason for living after all, then please donate knowing he will use this money wisely for those in the most need and those that provide care for them.
I know if he could do it on your behalf it would make him very happy.
thank you from the bottom of our hearts
