The Buzaaya Community Center is a vocational training school located in a remote farming village in Uganda, Africa. The community lacks both electricity and plumbing. But most importantly lacks opportunity.
Conceived in 2017, construction began in 2018. The center now has two beautiful buildings constructed to last 100 years and built STRICTLY with community volunteers. Over 92% of funding has come from one sponsor.
The Mission Statement is to: “Provide vocational training that develops marketable job skills and leads to gainful employment”. To date our programs are the making of: bricks, stoves, handbags and re-usable sanitary pads. We also have construction, tailoring and agricultural programs.
The goal of this drive is to help start a floating fish pellet manufacturing business whose purpose is to serve as a profit center for the training programs that are not self-sustaining. A 3-phase, 380 volt, 50kw generator is needed to power the manufacturing equipment.
Contributors will be able to take pride in helping the centers long term viability with the hope the programs last as long as the 100-year buildings.
